MISSION OF TRAINING FOR LIFE - AFRICA

TFL has the vision to transform Tanzanian Form 6 school leavers from being merely academic to becoming more aware of real life issues.

By so doing, you will become more effective as you go out into the employment pool, or into higher education. You will have the ambition to become more than a job seeker; in fact, you'll have the ambition to become a job creator.

You will become independent of welfare and support; you will contribute to society, not take away from it. You will add value to your work place by being a man or woman of integrity, charm, stability and of good reputation.

Our vision is to support our future leaders with the life skills which enables them to maximise their potential in the nation of Tanzania.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The annual course is run in 4 consecutive months, starting in March 2013.

During the first two months of the programme; in a lecture room situation, students receive intensive teaching, which covers different disciplines, with the emphasis on a balanced life style. Subjects covered include entrepreneurship, personal finance, health issues and spiritual education.

Different professional experts, from Tanzania and overseas, volunteer to teach each specialised subject. On a practical basis, you will also participate in study tours in and around the neighbouring community.

The last two months of the programme is normally comprised of time for social placement and community work, computer training and the opportunity to climb Africa's highest mountain or Uluguru Mountain in Morogoro.

WHAT DOES TFL DO?

reaching the summit

TFL focuses on helping youths
to formulate personal visions,
discover their talents, use their initiative and be optimistic.

TFL desires to help mature youths
into adulthood,
with an inner desire
to serve the community
more resourcefully.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any Tanzanian youth who has completed Form 6 and is aged not beyond 24 years by January of the year of study, can apply for this interesting course. The TFL organization committee makes a short list of the more suitable applicants, who are then invited for panel interview.

AWARDS

At the end of the programme, students will graduate with three different certificates: TFL Course Completion, Basic Computer Training and Kilimanjaro Summit Climb (for Moshi based trainees only). The certificates will improve your CV.
