Every year thousands of Tanzanian children
finish their primary education with no prospects of continuing
their education. This can be because of failing of the exams
or the lack of money to go on to private schools. The Maisha
Mapya Education Centre was established to help girls and boys
who finished primary school (standard VII). We especially
set out to help those families, who have not the resources
to pay for the education of their children.
We are providing them with education and life skills. With
these new skills and knowledge they should be able to do something
meaningful in life. We also want to give these children a
high self-esteem by discussing life issues with them and give
them a voice.
